Maria is a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience working in health care, community, career, and higher education settings. Although she works with clients from different backgrounds and concerns, she has a special focus on women’s mental health. Maria’s approach to psychotherapy is highly collaborative and she strives to provide personalized treatment that matches her clients’ goals and personal values. She focuses on helping clients by working together on increasing their psychological, emotional, and physical well-being while developing effective skills to successfully navigate life challenges.

Maria works with adults with concerns such as depression, insomnia, anxiety, life transitions, grief, stress-management, chronic pain, relationship issues, and career planning/transitions. Her main therapeutic approach is evidence-based with a strong integration of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Maria is fluent in Spanish and can provide counselling services in this language as well.
